The Faculty of Applied Chemistry and Materials Science participated in the event through the following actions:
- the organization of Kid's Lab workshops, in which the children discovered through experiments carried out by themselves, how much vitamin C is found in different fruits and/or in bottled juices; they learned basic notions related to proper nutrition;
- visits within the National Scientific Research Center for Food Safety (CNpSA).
The event enjoyed a real interest from the participants.
On Friday, September 29, 2017, more than 100 children between the ages of 5 and 14 participated enthusiastically in the Kid's Lab, and on Saturday about 90 children. They experimented safely under the careful supervision of a group of 15 students who guided them whenever needed during the experiments. The activity was coordinated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Eng. Cristina Todasca.
