The Master of Science program entitled Chemical Processes Engineering (CPE) is designed for the pursuit of advanced chemical engineering education of graduate students at an appropriate level for research and design abilities. The Education Plan includes advanced disciplines, complementary to those studied during the graduate studies (Fluid Flow in Multiphase Systems, Advanced Separation Methods, Intensification of Transfer Processes, Heterogeneous Reactors, Automation of Chemical Processes), as well as new disciplines, to complete the professional training (Catalysis and Catalytic Processes, Thermal and Refrigeration Equipment, Dynamics of Chemical Processes, Management and Legislation for Chemical and Biochemical Fabrications). The skills in technological design of equipment and installations are developed both by thorough study of engineering fundamentals and special equipments design activities, and a discipline directly related to this activity (Design of Equipment in Process Industries). An important part in the Education Plan is reserved to research activities, with individual working themes to be solved by each student under academic supervision. Research projects are connected to the traditional directions in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering: mathematical modeling, simulation of chemical and biochemical processes, experimental and theoretical kinetic studies of transfer phenomena and chemical transformations, optimization studies of operating and design of equipments and installations, a. o. Teaching and research activities are carried out and coordinated by experienced academics, mostly affiliated to the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering. Computer networks and dedicated software packages are used in all applicative teaching and research activities.
The CPE Master of Science program is open to graduates of technical higher education programs with appropriate curricula in the following areas: chemical engineering, economical engineering in chemical and materials industry, engineering and environment protection in chemical and petrochemical industry, engineering of food products, materials engineering.
