Innovative Technologies for Secondary Raw Materials (ITSRM) program offers specialization in secondary resource recovery technologies, knowledge of the composition of products at the end of the life cycle, comparative presentation of the technologies currently used for the recovery of secondary raw materials (SRM). The program intervenes in a dynamic segment of the market, the application of technologies for resource recovery, which will experience a significant development in the near future, imposed by the needs of society and by EU legislation. Graduates can work in SMEs specializing in SRM processing or for the development of new SRM recovery technologies. Innovative Technologies for Secondary Raw Materials program will provide students with: - capacity to perform theoretical and experimental studies of raw materials recovery processes, gathering and analyzing the data, and evaluating the process performance: conventional vs innovative; - ability to propose a suitable technology for the processing of a particular secondary resource; - capacity to use the clean technology concept and life cycle assessment tools to assess sustainability of processes; - empowerment and improvement of university graduates with specialized knowledge for the need of the circular economy. In addition program will provide - formation of skills related to interpersonal communication, teamwork, rapid insertion of human resources on the market;
Other information (double degree is possible, incoming Erasmus students, partnership to industry/companies, possibility to develop master thesis related to industry); The research subjects includes, but are not limited to: recovery of metals by chemical solubilization or by electrochemical methods from waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE); recovery of glass waste in obtaining binders / intumescent paints; exploitation of used vegetable oils in obtaining polymeric / composite materials; recovery of biomass waste; obtaining materials for the electronics industry from polymer waste. All the courses of the program are open for Erasmus incoming students.
