The objective of the program, taught in Romanian, is to provide master’s students with knowledge of high-performance composite materials, as required by the wide variety of applications in which they are used.
The main objectives of this program are:
- to provide knowledge regarding matrices and reinforcing materials used in the production of composite materials, emphasizing the role that ensuring matrix-reinforcing material compatibility plays in obtaining high-performance composites;
- developing skills for the optimal utilization of composition-structure-property correlations in the production of high-performance composite materials, in accordance with their intended applications;
- acquisition by master’s students of knowledge related to the design, fabrication, and characterization of advanced composite materials for specialized applications, such as: ceramic nanocomposites, composite materials for medicine, polymer matrix composites, composites and nanocomposites with applications in the chemical industry, high-performance composites with binder matrices, composites and nanocomposites with electrical and magnetic properties for microelectronics and optoelectronics, etc.;
- providing knowledge regarding the recovery and recycling of certain types of waste derived from composite materials, including the utilization of waste from other fields in the production of composite materials, while maintaining the specific performance characteristics required by their intended applications;
- understanding the possibilities for immobilizing waste containing toxic substances within composite materials and the implications of incorporating such substances on the performance of composite materials.
